Welcome to the Eastrop PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
Hi, I’m Louise Richens. I have 2 sons, one who attends Eastrop and one who attends Southfield Junior School.
We are a community spirited and friendly PTA committee, here to enable family friendly and exciting social events to happen as well as to raise vital funds for the direct benefit of our pupils here at Eastrop.
I encourage you to come and say hi in the playground, and share any suggestions with us too. Additionally, if you’re keen to become more involved in the school’s PTA then we would welcome that too! All supports is greatly appreciated.
How do we raise money?
We are always open to new ideas and suggestions but things we do include school discos, quiz nights, Christmas fair, summer fete, sponsored events, face painting and craft days. We don't just raise money, we make sure everyone has a good time doing it too!
Where does the money go?
Every penny raised is spent on the children, enhancing the provision in school and providing them with extra special opportunities. Examples of how we spend the money include, paying for the coaches used for school trips (which reduces the cost to parents), buying new reading books, creating an outdoor library/calm space in school and making wet-play bags to keep the children busy when it rains.
What have we purchased recently?
In the last 18 months we have successfully raised money for...
A new climbing frame, lots and lots of reading books, a reading corridor and a sensory garden.
