National Outstanding Governance Awards
I am sure you have all heard of the Oscars and Baftas but probably, like the Governors of the Eastrop and Southfield Partnership, not heard about the National Governors Association (NGA) Outstanding Governance Awards.
In December 2018, after learning about the awards and the different sections, we applied to the NGA for an Outstanding Governance Vision and Strategy award. We strongly believe in our strategic vision and value of “excellence” to name but one. We also felt that we should lead by example!
These awards come round every two years and are open to all schools nationally.
After much hard work gathering and collating a variety of evidence, we were delighted to be informed we were shortlisted to the next round!
Both schools were then visited by Emma Knights, CEO of the NGA .She spoke to Mr Griffiths the Headteacher and his team, some of the children involved in creating the Vision and Values and some Governors. She took away yet more paperwork evidence.
Very recently, we were thrilled to find out that our schools have been selected to go through to the grand final on 21st May 2019 being held at the House of Commons!
We are delighted and so proud that our schools have been recognized nationally. Everyone within the Partnership Staff ,Parent/Carers, Governors and especially the children , make a fabulous team working together and towards “being recognized locally and nationally as a beacon of educational excellence.”
To find out more about our Vision and Values and how they were developed, please see the relevant section of our school websites.
